Page Plus Cellular Coverage
Page Plus runs off of the Verizon prepaid network. Now if you have been on a postpaid contract with Verizon, you know that you have the best network available. The prepaid network is very similar but not exactly the same. The reason: the major networks tend to have an agreement to let the other networks use their towers when someone is on a postpaid contract. But when you switch to a prepaid contract, that is not the case, which is when roaming comes into play. If you went with a prepaid plan directly with Verizon, you would be paying for roaming, just like with Page Plus. However if you are tempted to go with Straight Talk, they also offer prepaid plans utilizing the Verizon network (in addition to the AT&T and Sprint networks) but you CANNOT roam on Straight Talk's Verizon coverage so you run the risk of not having service if you travel through a roaming area.

Now as far as roaming goes, I am not around a roaming area on a regular basis, but the several times I have had a chance to go through the Olney, IL area and the Louisville/Flora, IL area which show as roaming and the phone reflected it was roaming, I was not charged anything for these calls. Were these instances flukes? I don't know and I wouldn't think so after 4 or 5 tries, but I am glad to know that I can call when it roams, and hey, if I don't get charged extra, all the better.
