Gasoline Savings
THIS DEAL HAS EXPIRED! Even though this deal has expired, I know that they typically offer this deal a couple of times a year so I will be on the lookout for the next time this is offered. Hopefully you were able to take advantage of this and save some money. I know I did!!
If you are looking to save on your fuel expense, Walmart has a great deal going on right now that will help your budget. From April 1st thru July 7th, 2013, you can save 10¢ or 15¢ a gallon. For
more details, check this out: http://www.walmart.com/cp/1087144
When you go through the amount of gasoline I do, you will take any advantage you can get. So when
they ran this promotion before and since we do not use a Wal-Mart credit card, my goal was to always estimate how many gallons I would need to fill-up the tank and multiply it by the cost per gallon minus the 10¢. I would then add a dollar amount close to that onto the gift card. That way money is not sitting on a gift card not being used. My only complaint from previous times was that I would have to go into the store to refill my gift card. However, I have since found out that you can actually do this online so this helps save on time too so you don’t have to physically go into the store if all you are doing is filling up your gas tank.
HOWEVER, there are multiple gas rewards cards being offered these days. I am in the process of compiling a list of these and will publish them soon.

Box Tops for Education
A great program that I am passionate about is the Box Tops for Education program. This program helps provide extra money to schools when school budgets are taking big hits. Not only can you turn in Box Tops off of many different products but you can also earn Box Tops from shopping online. Also, if you register on the website, you can print coupons for many Box Tops products. Check it out at www.boxtopsforeducation.com.
Coupons
Speaking of coupons, I like to save money by clipping coupons. No I am not one of those extreme couponers, but if you find the right newspaper or website, it can be well worth the money. Being from the East Central Illinois area, I have found that there are normally quite a few coupons in the Saturday Effingham Daily News paper. Then on Sundays, I prefer to get a St. Louis Post Dispatch. On most Sundays, there is normally anywhere from $100-$200+ of coupons and for $2.50, I usually can find more than enough coupons for products I use to justify the cost. But beware, I have to go to a local store to buy the St. Louis paper because sometimes if larger newspapers are mailed or delivered, there is no guarantee you will get the coupon sections, so check before buying a subscription.
Some websites I check out are www.smartsource.com and www.redplum.com. They normally have a wide variety of coupons to choose from, but remember, you are using your own ink and paper, so make sure to print out only ones you will use and not all of them available because the point is to SAVE money, not waste it. Another tip I have found useful is if you are looking to buy a specific product, check that company's website and they just may have a coupon available for printing off of their website.

Free and Bargain Books for an eReader or Smartphone
Do you like to read but don't have the money to spend on buying books or ebooks? If you are like me and live outside of the local library district, paying the fee could bust your budget. So I came up with a solution that allows me to still read but cost me very little. Now I know there are probably many websites that can point you to some great deals on ebooks, but I currently use two different ones. The first one is BookBub. On this site, you choose the categories of books you are interested in and they will send you a daily email on free or bargain books for the categories that you choose. You can check it out at http://www.bookbub.com/home/index.php. The second site I use is Pixelscroll. Not only do they find and post around 10 free Kindle books a day, they also post bargain Kindle books as well as free and bargain Kindle apps. You can find out more at http://pixelscroll.com/ and I even receive status updates on Facebook telling me when they have new books to check out.
And you don't necessarily have to have an eReader to take advantage of these. If you have a smartphone, you can download many eReader apps, including the Amazon Kindle app, to access any ebooks you decide to download. Or Amazon offers other options without having to own an eReader, such as reading on your browser or directly on your PC. You can find out more about the various options at http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=sa_menu_karl?ie=UTF8&docId=1000493771.
No matter what, if you enjoy reading, limited funds do not have to limit your chance to enjoy this pasttime.
