Phones
There are many options and only a few restrictions regarding phones on Page Plus.
As far as restrictions, keep the following in mind when deciding on a different phone:
Other than those, it is pretty well an open field. So if you have a 3G smartphone, a feature phone or a flip phone that still works perfectly well, you can use it without having to buy a new phone, as long as it is an original postpaid contract Verizon phone, but pay so much less compared to Verizon's rates or get more for your money. If this is the case, go all the way to the bottom of the page to click the link to the special deals going on right now.
On the other hand if you need or want a new phone, there are plenty of ways to take care of that too. Just remember, you may be tempted with Verizon's low cost tactics they offer on some new phones. Yes, some might even be free, but in reality you are signing up to be on a contract with them for 2 years, so they more than make up for any hits they might take on a phone to guarantee 2 years of usage and data fees (or an early termination fee). So if you are in the market for a phone, you can check many of these places:
As far as restrictions, keep the following in mind when deciding on a different phone:
- At this time, Page Plus does not support iPhones, 4G phones (see note at bottom of the page regarding iPhones and 4G phones), phones used for another network outside of Verizon, or Verizon prepaid phones. There is hope that sometime in the near future, Page Plus will allow iPhones and/or 4G devices but that time has not come yet. If I hear that anything changes regarding these phones, I will make sure to post it as soon as possible.
- Also, you will want to make sure the phone has a clear ESN or id number, because if Verizon shows that phone as being stolen or lost, the ESN will be bad and you wouldn't be able to use it on Page Plus (or Verizon for that matter).

So if you are in the market for a phone, you can check many of these places:
- Check with friends and family to see if they have any phones that they no longer use (they might have upgraded but still have a perfectly good phone not in use). Some work places even have bulletin boards that list items for sale.
- Facebook has sites dedicated to garage sale items and even cell phones themselves that are located right in your area.
- Kitty Wireless offers some phones for sale. While Page Plus offers a limited amount of phones to choose from, Kitty Wireless offers a few more. The prices might be a little more but phones from Kitty Wireless come with a 2 year product replacement warranty against manufacturer defects that you won't get anywhere else. NOTE: Kitty Wireless has a limited supply of phones at this time. They are working on a new lineup and hope to be offering phones again soon, possibly as soon as mid-August.
- The Kitty Wireless Forum has a place for forum members to sell phones there. You can get there by clicking the link at the bottom of this page and once in the forum, scrolling down to the classified ads section.
- Cowboom.com
- Craigslist could be a place to check. Just be cautious because you will be meeting strangers face-to-face to exchange money for the phone.
- Amazon
- And where I found my phone was on ebay. There I was able to check out many different phones as well as pricing on new, refurbished or used phones. I also liked using ebay because I could send a message to the seller to make sure that all of my questions were answered before bidding. When I was looking for a phone, I had specific questions that I asked if the answers were not already stated in the listing. For what I was concerned with, check out my ebay tips page here:
Never owned a smartphone before? Neither had I before switching to Page Plus, so I was in the same boat. And it was a daunting task of trying to figure out where to start. But the beauty of a smartphone is that you will be able to access wi-fi (or most should have wi-fi capabilities) and thus save on your mobile data. Here are a couple of helpful items to get you started:
Some of the most popular smartphones on Page Plus tend to be the HTC Incredible 2, the Motorola Droid X2 and Motorola Droid 3. An easy way to distinguish between them are the Droid 3 has a physical keyboard, the Droid X2 has a big screen with no physical keyboard and the Incredible 2 also has no physical keyboard but has an additional front-facing camera.
But your choices aren't limited to those 3. A fellow Kitty Wireless forum member, hkleiner, has put together a great spreadsheet that you can use to sort out what features you do want and narrow down features for the phone you would like. It can be found in the link in the first post here on the forums:

Another factor may be the price of buying a different phone. I would say "new" but when conducting my research I was advised that buying a "new" phone just isn't worth the money. So if you ask the right questions and deal with a good seller, the risk should be minimal. Forum member Micallen who contributed to the decision tree above also put together a price guide for some of the more popular phones. The most recent list (which can be found at http://micflix.net/sold.htm), updated as of 12/11/13, shows the following:
Phone Average Sell Price
Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S) $53
Motorola Droid 1 (A 855) $32
Motorola Droid X $47
Motorola Droid 2 $33
Motorola Droid 2 Global $47
Motorola Droid X2 $56
Motorola Droid Pro $36
Motorola Droid 3 $47
HTC Droid Incredible $41
HTC Droid Incredible 2 $61
HTC Trophy (Win 7) $47
Casio GZ One Commando $60
LG Ally $23
NOT SUPPORTED PHONES BUT OTHERS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ACTIVATE THEM SO CAN BE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK:
3G Phones:
iPhone 4 (8 GB) $124
iPhone 4S (16 GB) $189
4G Phones that would require flashing (either by yourself or thru a paid service) are also listed on the website link above but I will not be listing them as of this time due to the following, per Kitty Wireless: 4g LTE devices are not officially supported on Page Plus. While you can flash them, and get them to work with 1X or 3G data, neither Page Plus nor Kitty Wireless can provide any assistance, whatsoever, when it comes to these devices. They still absolutely recommend people stay with 3G CDMA devices, for now, until 4g LTE device support is implemented at a later date.
HOWEVER, due to more and more people wanting to use newer 4G LTE devices, Kitty has created a special place on the forums for addressing all of the issues regarding 4G LTE devices, including flashing these devices. Just click on the banner below and you will find all sorts of useful information including the 4G Related Discussions and then further down on the main page, a whole section dedicated to Device Flashing Related Discussions.
